Business Interruption Claim Software Features
BIClaimPro gives public adjusters, forensic accountants, insurance brokers, law firms and business owners a structured business interruption claim report in PDF and Excel, with the working for every figure.
Business interruption claim report in PDF and Excel
Each claim produces a PDF report and an Excel workbook with the same figures. The workbook has a sheet for each part of the working, so an accountant can check each step.
Gross profit and gross earnings
The tool supports both Gross Profit and Gross Earnings cover, plus Standing Charges. The two are worked out on the same inputs, so you can compare gross profit vs gross earnings for the same loss.
Three scenarios: Base, Conservative and Insurer View
Every claim is shown as a Base Case, a Conservative case and an Insurer View. You set the Conservative and Insurer View percentages and a contingency buffer, and the report shows how the estimate moves.
Ramp-up after reopening
After the business reopens, sales often take time to come back. The tool works out the sales shortfall during the ramp-up period for Gross Profit and Standing Charges cover, from the sales you enter for each recovery period, actual or expected. A period with no sales entered is not estimated: the recovery stops there and the loss may continue.
Extended period of indemnity
For Gross Earnings cover, the tool uses the extended period of indemnity days you enter from your policy to work out the shortfall after reopening.
Coinsurance check and policy limit
Where your policy has a coinsurance clause, the tool checks the insured amount against the required amount and shows any reduction. It also applies your policy limit and shows the claim before and after it.
Everything else in the tool
These are the other parts of the tool that people use most.
- Three-Scenario Analysis: Base Case, Conservative, and Insurer View, so you can see how the estimate changes under different assumptions.
- Professional PDF Report: A structured PDF report with the working for every figure. Give it to your broker or adjuster, and have a qualified professional review it.
- Excel Workbook Export: An Excel workbook with the same figures as the PDF and a sheet for each part of the working. Your accountant can check each step.
- Recovery after reopening: Works out the sales shortfall after reopening, following your cover: the ramp-up period for Gross Profit and Standing Charges, and the extended period of indemnity days for Gross Earnings.
- CSV, Excel or paste: Upload your revenue history or P&L as a CSV or Excel file, or paste it in. You review every row before it is placed in your claim.
- Saved to your account: Your claims and reports are saved to your account. Re-open and revise any saved claim anytime.
